Bag transport to palletising robot
Upon the request of a partner, BCK Holland delivered various conveyor systems for the transportation of filled bags of powder. The objective was to convey the bags from the bagging machines to the palletising robot.
In the layout, five 'bagging machines' are set up next to each other. Each individual bagging machine is responsible for packaging a specific product in powder form. Once filled, each bag is labelled with a barcode. Subsequently, all the bags were directed onto a main conveyor leading to the palletising robot To ensure a controlled product flow onto the main conveyor, a folding roller conveyor was installed. It gently transferred the products onto the main conveyor at an angle, only when there was sufficient space on the conveyor.
At the end of the main conveyor, the bags are transported along the pressing station with reinforced belt conveyor and the air is pressed out of the semi-sealed bag. This gives the bag shape retention and the necessary strength for palletizing.
After the pressing station, the bags are ready to be palletized by a robot. The label is scanned so that the robot knows where the bag should eventually go. The label also provides information about the stacking pattern and how to pick up the bag correctly. The bags of the different lines not only each contain a different product, but actually differ in shape and weight. The five bagging lines each output to their own pallet.
