Folding section with belt conveyor

A challenge presented to us by our partner was the need to connect a new conveyor system to an existing one without requiring modifications to the existing system, both mechanically and electrically. Additionally, the flow of products had to occur from only one direction.

Our solution involved mounting a belt conveyor in a frame with a pneumatic cylinder, creating a folding section. When products are fed through the new conveyor system, the cylinder is activated, causing the output side of the belt conveyor to lower. This enables a smooth transition onto the existing conveyor system, which then continues to transport the products to a sorting machine.

If the products are fed through the existing conveyor system, the cylinder is activated, raising the output side of the belt conveyor. This allows the products to pass under the folding section towards the sorting machine.

This innovative integration of two conveyor systems with a folding section not only provides a seamless transition between the systems but also efficiently directs the flow of products, resulting in an improved operational workflow for our partner.
